How to make and play Easter bingo

Making your cards

  1. Pick a word list. The box starts with 36 Easter words, from “Easter bunny” and “Jelly beans” to “Egg hunt.” Under Quick-fill you can switch to Classroom & spring (short words young readers know, with no candy-heavy squares) or Holy Week (words from the Easter story for church and Sunday school). Press “Fill my list,” then edit freely, one word or short phrase per line. With the free space on you need at least 24 different entries.
  2. How many cards: 1 to 100 per batch. Make one per player plus a few spares for latecomers.
  3. Cards per page: 1 per page prints big squares that small children can read and color. 4 per page suits older kids and adults, and 6 saves the most paper.
  4. Event / title (optional): up to 50 characters, such as “Room 4 Spring Party” or “St. Mark's Easter Brunch.” It prints at the top of every card.
  5. Press “Generate cards,” then “Print.” Every card gets its own shuffle of the list. If you edit the words, press Generate again before printing.

Ways to play

Egg-draw bingo: write each word on a slip and seal the slips inside plastic eggs. Players take turns cracking an egg and reading the word aloud, which keeps young children busy between calls. Jelly beans or small crackers work as markers if you know about any allergies.

Egg hunt bingo: hide the eggs before the party. Each child who finds one brings it to the caller, who opens it and reads the word for everyone. The hunt and the game finish together.

Sunday school or church brunch: use the Holy Week list and read a one-line explanation as each word is drawn, for example “Palm Sunday: the crowd waved palm branches as Jesus rode into Jerusalem.” The game doubles as a review of the story.

Spring walk bingo: pick nature words from the Classroom & spring list (Robin, Tulip, Puddle, Butterfly) and print one card per child. Players mark what they spot outside. No caller is needed, and the first full line wins.

When is Easter?

Easter Sunday 2027 is March 28, and in 2028 it is April 16. Western churches celebrate on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after March 21, so the date can land anywhere from March 22 to April 25. Orthodox churches often celebrate on a later Sunday. Check your school calendar too: spring break doesn't always line up with Easter.

How long a game lasts

Each card shows 24 of your words (25 without the free space). With a short list, cards share most of their words, so lines come quickly and several players may win on the same draw. That suits a 15-minute class activity. For a big group or a longer game, add words until the list has 40 or more, or play to blackout and hand out a small prize for the first line along the way.

Easter bingo — questions

How do you play Easter bingo?

Write each word on a slip or a paper egg, draw them one at a time, and players mark the word if it's on their card. The first to complete a line, or the whole card, wins.

Is there a version for church or Sunday school?

Yes. Pick the Holy Week list under Quick-fill. It uses words from the Easter story, such as Palm Sunday, Last Supper and Empty tomb, instead of bunnies and candy.

When is Easter in 2027?

Easter Sunday 2027 is March 28. In 2028 it falls on April 16. Western churches set the date as the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after March 21, so it moves every year.

Is the Easter bingo generator free?

Yes, free with no signup. Print as many unique cards as you need. Everything runs in your browser.
